Gas main break forces evacuations in Doylestown

A large gas main break forced evacuations in Doylestown this morning.

Bucks County dispatchers said the leak near the intersection of Shewell Avenue, Main Street and Court Street was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Buildings in the immediate area of the leak, near the center of the borough, were evacuated, dispatchers said.

Borough officials said at about 9:40 a.m. that the leak had been repaired and streets were reopening to traffic.

Crews were investigating the cause of the leak.

No injuries were reported.
