Fire destroys Delco tavern

An overnight fire destroyed a neighborhood tavern in Delaware County.

The blaze broke out shortly after midnight at the Toll House Tavern, located at 2 Chester Pike in Norwood.

No injuries were reported.

The building was extensively damaged in the blaze, and the tavern wrote on its Facebook page that the remaining walls were being knocked down to prevent them from collapsing later.

"So glad no one was hurt in the fire," the Facebook message says. "Can not believe the Toll House is gone! Thank you to all of our great customers who have made this a fun place to go for 52 years. So many memories and good friends."
