Extra SEPTA service for Phillies home opener, Frozen Four, other games

SEPTA will be running extra subway trains for today's home opener for the Phillies, as well as before the NCAA Frozen Four hockey tournament and other Phillies and Flyers games later this week.

The transit agency says it will run three sports express trains on the Broad Street Line this afternoon before the Phillies' 4:05 p.m. game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Citizens Bank Park.

The sports express trains run in addition to regular subway service. They travel south from the Fern Rock Transportation Center and stop only at the Olney, Erie, Girard, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall, Walnut-Locust and AT&T stations.

Today's extra trains will depart the Fern Rock station at 2:58 p.m., 3:08 p.m. and 3:18 p.m.

Additional sports express trains will also run before other games this week in the stadium complex, including Phillies games Wednesday through Sunday; NCAA Frozen Four hockey games Thursday and Saturday; and a Flyers game Sunday. A complete schedule is on SEPTA's website.
