A former La Salle University basketball star and current Division II head coach was charged Sunday with exposing himself to people on a walking trail in Lower Merion, according to court documents.

Doug Overton, of the 2400 block of Golf Road in Wynnefield, was charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct and released on bail, court documents show.

Lower Merion police could not immediately be reached for comment.

According to the Delco Times, one male witness claimed Overton, the 47-year-old head coach of Lincoln University's men's basketball team, was walking on the Cynwyd Trail with his genitals exposed. The newspaper reported that another witness said Overton was touching his exposed penis while staring at a woman.

Overton, a Big 5 Hall of Famer at La Salle, where he still holds the school records for assists and steals, was the second-round pick of the Detroit Pistons in the 1991 NBA Draft.

He played 11 NBA seasons for eight teams, including 94 games with Sixers during two separate stints (1996-98, 1999).

After his playing career ended, he landed coaching stints at St. Joseph's University and the New Jersey Nets before accepting the top job at Lincoln in 2016.
