Cops release surveillance video in fatal hit-run in Southwest Philadelphia

Police have released surveillance video of the vehicle suspected of fatally hitting a pedestrian in a Southwest Philadelphia crash.

Investigators are looking for the driver of the crash that killed 60-year-old Leslie Smith as he was crossing Island Avenue near Lindberg Boulevard at about 6:15 p.m. Monday.

Police said the car didn't stop after the accident, and fled toward Philadelphia International Airport.

The vehicle is described as a red sedan with a black top and a missing right front hubcap. The car will have damage to the front hood and possibly the windshield, police said. No description of the driver is known.
