Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal shooting in East Falls.

Police said a man in his late 20s or early 30s was shot multiple times in his chest and abdomen on the 3200 block of Defense Terrace. The shooting happened just before 10:40 a.m.

The man was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:05 a.m.

Further information about the circumstances of the shooting wasn't immediately available.
