Officers are looking for a man who stole a Philadelphia Police Department-issued bicycle Wednesday and rode it through the city. The thief was caught on surveillance camera carrying out the deed.

The bicycle went missing around noon from the corner of Broad and Moore streets in South Philadelphia, according to investigators.

A man reportedly hopped on the bike and was last seen pedaling north on Broad Street.

He eventually abandoned the bicycle more than three miles away, near 13th Street and Girard Avenue in North Philadelphia, police said.

Officers recovered the vehicle a short time after it was stolen, but the suspect remained at large Wednesday afternoon.
