Cops ID 2 teens killed in South Jersey crash

Police have identified two teenagers killed after they were ejected from a vehicle in a South Jersey crash.

New Jersey State Police said 17-year-old Ian Fischer, of Pilesgrove, and 18-year-old Collin Harvey of Woodstown were pronounced dead at the scene of the Salem County accident, which happened at about 2 p.m. Thursday on Yorketown Road in Pilesgrove.

Police said Fischer was driving the 1997 Honda Civic northbound and tried to pass two other vehicles, according to the preliminary investigation.

He lost control of the car and swerved off the road, striking a telephone pole, a parked vehicle, a house and another parked car, police said.

Fischer and Harvey, as well as another passenger, 16-year-old Courtney Brownlow, of Alloway, were all ejected from the Civic.

Brownlow was hospitalized in stable condition.

No other vehicles on the road were involved in the crash, and no one was in the parked cars at the time of the accident.

Police said this morning that the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
