Cops: Employees scam Cherry Hill car dealer out of $40k in gas

Cherry Hill Township police have arrested five men in connection with a years-long scam to steal gas from Winner Ford, with amounts totaling more than $40,000 in fuel.

The arrests were part of an investigation by Det. Jason Snyder into fraudulent billing for gas. According to police, the alleged scam worked like this: Three Winner Ford employees arranged with two employees of the Sunoco station on the 200 block of Haddonfield-Berlin Road to regularly charge for fuel that was never actually purchased. The alleged conspiracy lasted several years.

The fraud was discovered during a Winner Ford audit of gas being used to fill their vehicles. Winner Ford is also located on Haddonfield-Berlin Road.

Arrested from Winner Ford were: Michael Johnson, 24, of the 100 block of Schooley St., Moorestown; Daniel Savin, 46,, of the 100 block of Lynn Drive, Woodbury; Robert J. Rodgers, 64, of the 400 block of Velde Ave., Pennsauken.

Arrested from the Sunoco were: Sudagar Nokewal, 55, and Dilbagh Singh, 47, both of the first block of S. Oakland Ave., Runnemede.

The men were were charged with conspiracy to commit theft a crime and released on a pending court summons in Camden County Superior Court.
