A husband and wife are facing charges after a water ice purchase allegedly led police to a trove of counterfeit currency inside the couple's Montgomery County home.

Angela Mazzoni and David Mazzoni, both 35, have been charged with multiple counts of forgery, along with criminal conspiracy and possessing instruments of crime.

Police said Angela Mazzoni last Thursday used a counterfeit $10 bill to buy food at Rita's Water Ice in Glenside. Officers with the Abington Township Police Department the next day executed a search warrant on the Roslyn home she shares with her husband David.

Investigators said they seized from the property 265 counterfeit $10 bills and $6,000 in real cash.

Angela and David Mazzoni were both taken into custody. Both suspects were released from jail Tuesday after posting $10,000 bail each. They are next due in court June 11 for a preliminary hearing.
