Police activity outside an elementary school in Bensalem, Bucks County, reportedly prompted a shutdown of the school but involved no children, according to a police spokesman.

Police locked down Belmont Hills Elementary School sometime before 2 p.m. for an unspecified reason, Bensalem Sgt. Andrew Aninson said in an email alert.

Aninson also said, "All under control no danger to students. More information to follow. Staging tba."

He was not immediately available and police officials did not immediately respond to messages left at department headquarters.

Check back for more details as they become available.
