Cops: 3 questioned in Center City sex assault

Police are questioning three men tonight in a weekend sexual assault.

The men, being treated as persons of interest, were taken into custody from a home on 8th Street near Moore in South Philadelphia, police said. Investigators were led to the home by the victim’s cell phone, which was tracked to that house.

Earlier in the day, police released two sketches of the man they allege raped the victim, a 26-year-old woman, in her Rittenhouse Square apartment over the weekend.

The victim was attacked about 1:20 a.m. Saturday as she walked from Ladder 15 tavern, on Sansom Street near 15th, to her apartment on Spruce Street near 19th.

The suspect grabbed her by the neck and forced her into her upstairs apartment, where he sexually assaulted her and took her iPhone and keys, police said.

The man is described as a slim, Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 7 with black, slicked-back hair. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue jeans and a black baseball cap.
