Burning city layoff notices
Philadelphia Managing Director Camille Barnett presided over the burning of 3,000 layoff notices on Friday morning at the fire academy in Northeast Philadelphia. The notices were planned to go out today as part of Mayor Nutter's Plan C budget, but that became unnecessary when the state legislator pass a rescue budget for the city.
