Runners can sign up for this year's Blue Cross Broad Street Run starting today -- but this year, there's no rush to register before spots sell out.
After last year's race, which used first-come, first-served registration, sold out in five hours, organizers moved to a lottery system for this year.
The lottery opened at 12:01 a.m. today and will close Feb. 15 at 11:59 p.m.
Runners who received one of the 40,000 slots in the race will be notified by email by 10 a.m. on Feb. 19. You can also check your status on broadstreetrun.com.
Your chance of getting a spot in the May 5 race is the same, regardless of when you enter the lottery.
