Baby dies from assault injuries

A 20-year-old father is responsible for sending his 2-month-old baby boy to the emergency room in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries at 1:55 p.m.

Brian Armstrong, of Ogontz, is being charged with aggravated assault on Saturday after staff at Einstein Hospital noticed extensive injuries on Hassan Armstrong, including on his ribs and skull, and alerted police. The child was taken to Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

Polices spokeswoman Officer Tanya Little said though second-degree murder charges haven’t yet been filed by the District Attorney’s office, they are likely.
