Pa. children safe after Amber Alert

Two children abducted at gunpoint in Lancaster County were found safe in Philadelphia and the suspects are in custody, police said.

Lancaster City police said 3-year-old Erielys Ahorrio and her brother, 4-year-old John Ahorrio, were located in Philadelphia this morning. They had been taken after an armed altercation at a Lancaster residence on Thursday, and police issued an Amber Alert following the abduction.

Police say the children's father, 23-year-old Eddie Ahorrio Jr., and his father, 47-year-old Eddie Ahorrio Sr., abducted the pair and fled in a black Nissan Altima.

Pennsylvania State Police said a trooper spotted the vehicle driving east on the Schuylkill Expressway near Route 1 at about 7:30 a.m.

Eddie Ahorrio Jr. and Eddie Ahorrio Sr. were taken into custody, police said. The children were sleeping, unharmed, in the back seat of the vehicle.

The Amber Alert was canceled shortly after the car was stopped.

The 1994 vehicle, which has the Pennsylvania license plate JJG-8170, had last been seen in Vineland, N.J., near Routes 55 and 47, authorities said.

They were believed to be traveling to Massachusetts.
