Alligator sightings reported at Bucks Co. college
Suburban residents should be on alert for a few unusual animals.
Officials reported earlier this week that a 7-foot snake is on the loose in Swarthmore. And now, several people have reported seeing an alligator in a pond at a Bucks County college.
Christopher Lloyd, the security director at Cairn University, tells the Bucks County Courier Times that four people have reported spotting a three-foot-long gator in a pond at the Christian college in Langhorne Manor so far this month.
The pond was temporarily closed to visitors while investigator searched for the creature, but has since reopened after no additional sightings were reported. Warning signs have been posted around the water.
Lloyd told the Courier Times that a private reptile hunter found no trace of the animal.
Earlier this summer, a small alligator was found near a sewer in Philadelphia's Fishtown section.
