A delivery driver who allegedly shot out the window of another driver's car with a BB gun during a road rage incident in Center City last weekend is a registered sex offender under Megan's Law.

Police identified Shaffiat Ali, 31, of 12th Street near Reed in South Philly, as the driver who delivered quite a scare to a young woman and her small child around 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Broad and Lombard streets.

According to police, the 28-year-old victim was driving with her 4-month-old daughter and another girl in the car when Ali began to follow them for for a few blocks before he fired two shots from a BB gun through the woman's car window. Nobody was injured and portions of the attack were captured on video.

Ali, whom police said is a delivery driver, was taken into custody last night and charged with aggravated assault and related offenses.

A search of Pennsylvania's Megan's Law website shows that Ali was found guilty of second-degree rape in New York state and was required to register as a sex offender beginning in 2010.
