A coalition of progressive groups united Thursday evening to mount a rally in Center City. The march kicked off around 4 p.m. at 15th and Market streets.

Participants' demands included fully funding schools, boosting the minimum wage and ending environmental destruction, according to a press release issued by a group called the Philly May 1st Coalition.

Activists were also planning to make a stop outside the Comcast Center to decry the cable giant's receipt of city and state assistance for the planned construction of its new skyscraper.

No arrests were reported, though some commuters experienced minor traffic snags.
