4 area lottery tickets win $2.85 million in Powerball, Cash 5 and Match 6

Luck smiled on the Philadelphia area this week, with two huge prizes hit in Philadelphia, and another one split between Montgomery and Lancaster County tickets.

Luckiest of all, though, was a Powerball ticket sold in California, which hit a jackpot advertised as worth $228.5 million for the annuity. It matched all the numbers drawn Wednesday night: 7, 14, 21, 24 and 41, with a Powerball of 26.

The ticket was sold at Key Market, 500 S. Norfolk St. in San Mateo.

Ten other Powerball tickets came close, missing only the Powerball. One, sold in New York, won $2 million because the player also bought the Power Play prize-boosting option.

Eight tickets, including one sold in Philadelphia, won $1 million, while a California ticket won $1.2 million under that state's pari-mutuel system.

The Philly ticket was sold at the Sunoco at 2100 E. Allegheny Ave. in Kensington.

The jackpot rebooted to $40 million for Saturday's drawing.

$225,000 Cash 5 jackpot hit in Philadelphia. The Wednesday, Sept. 24, drawing also proved lucky in the city's Holmesburg section. The top prize goes to a ticket purchased at Moe's Deli, 7360 Frankford Ave. It matched all five numbers: 11, 18, 22, 31 and 41.

Match 6 hit for $1.6 million in Montgomery, Lancaster Counties. The numbers drawn Monday, Sept. 22, were 5, 17, 20, 39, 40 and 46, and two tickets matched them all, winning $800,000 each. They were sold at Weis Markets, 2100 County Line Rd., Huntingdon Valley, and Puff Super Value, 941 E. Main St., Mt. Joy.
