Philly VA's office to hold town hall Saturday

Philadelphia's Veterans Affairs benefits office will host a town-hall forum Saturday for local veterans and their families to voice feedback about the quality of VA services.

The meeting, from 1 to 2 p.m., comes in the wake of a blistering report on the office issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs inspector general last month. Investigators found, among other concerns, that more than 31,000 veterans inquiries had languished for months and that thousands of pieces of mail from veterans had been marked as unidentifiable, despite having phone numbers or return addresses.

The event, at 5000 Wissahickon Ave. in Germantown, will also include a claims clinic from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at which veterans can seek help with their cases. - Tricia L. Nadolny
