Worker stabbed at Main Line Jewish school

A disgruntled former kitchen worker at a Main Line school attacked a current employee Monday morning, throwing bleach in his face and stabbing him repeatedly, Radnor Township police said.

The victim, who worked in the kitchen of the Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy, was stabbed in the head and neck and was in serious condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, said William Colarulo, the Radnor police chief.

After he was identified by the victim, Ivan Moore, 32, of the 1500 block of North 26th Street, fled on a SEPTA Norristown High-Speed Line train bound for 69th Street, and was arrested at the Overbrook station, Colarulo said. Moore was treated at Bryn Mawr Hospital for hand injuries.

Police said the Monday incident in the ground-floor kitchen occurred just before 10 a.m. The suspect and the victim became involved in an altercation, police said, and the attack ensued. No children were in danger during the incident, police said. Charges against Moore included aggravated assault and attempted homicide. - Mari A. Schaefer
