Police charge woman after 1st grader brings bags of suspected heroin to school

Police have arrested a woman after a first grader brought more than a dozen small bags of suspected heroin to his school Wednesday.

Police have arrested a woman after a first grader brought more than a dozen small bags of suspected heroin to his school Wednesday.

Latoria Faulk was charged with drug possession and related charges after police, investigating how the boy came to have the heroin, searched her car. It was unclear how Faulk was related to the child, who showed the bags to his classmates over lunch at Cramp School.

The children told adults about the bags, and four students, including the boy who brought the bags to school, were taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children as a precaution. They were later released.

Investigating officers were led to Faulk and her car after they went to the boy's house, police said. - Aubrey Whelan
