2 arrested for threat to 'shoot up' Highland High School posted on Facebook

Police say two former students are in custody after they posted threats to "shoot up" Highland Regional High School on Facebook.

The Gloucester Township Police Department said it learned of the threats posted on 21-year-old Brandon Worley's Facebook page on Monday evening.

Officers went to Worley's apartment on the 600 block of Tatum Street in West Deptford and took both Worley and his roommate, 24-year-old Ramon Leon, into custody. Both men are former Highland students.

Authorities said no weapons or destructive devices were found in their home.

The two were trying to see "what Facebook would and would not allow to be posted," police said in a statement. In addition to the threat to shoot up the school, they had also posted sexually explicit photos and statements, according to police.

The explicit images and statements didn't reference Highland, police said.

The two are facing charges of false public alarm and terroristic threats.

Police said extra security was at the school as a precaution, though investigators don't believe there was a credible threat to the school.
