Pennsylvania’s Escalating Penalties for Drunken Driving

Punishment for DUI convictions increases as a driver’s intoxication goes up and as the number of past cases climbs. The jail times below are the minimums specified by law.

Convicted drunken drivers also get their licenses suspended for up to 18 months — except for first-time offenders with the lowest blood-alcohol level.
