Son of woman found in Feltonville freezer in custody

The son of a woman whose naked body was found in a basement freezer in Feltonville this week has surrendered to authorities.

Philadelphia police said 58-year-old William Carrasquillo turned himself in to East Detectives this afternoon.

Andrea Carrasquillo, 83, was found dead in her home near Lee and Wingohocking streets Tuesday morning.

He is expected to be charged with abuse of a corpse, said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman.

Authorities are still waiting for the Medical Examiner's Office to determine how Andrea Carrasquillo died, Russell said.

Additional charges could be filed after that information is learned.
