Service on SEPTA's Chestnut Hill East line has resumed, after downed wires disrupted trains for hours.

The transit agency said trains on the Regional Rail began running again at 1:40 p.m.

Service had been halted since 8:30 a.m. due to downed wires near the Stenton Station.

Wire problems were also affecting trains elsewhere in the Mid-Atlantic region, with Amtrak suspending service between Washington, D.C. and Baltimore due to more downed wires.
