Delco police seek woman in gun threat to mother, grandmother, 80

Upper Darby Township Police are seeking a woman who they say threatened her mother and 80-year-old grandmother at gunpoint in their Drexel Hill home and then fled in their car with an acquaintance.

"We consider her armed and dangerous," said township Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood. "She's walking around with a loaded gun."

Alexa Mozitis, 21, had been living with her mother and grandmother intermittently since being evicted from her apartment in Philadelphia, keeping her belongings in a living-room closet, according to Chitwood. She had stopped home with an acquaintance whom her family members did not recognize.

The incident occurred around 4 p.m. Friday following a quarrel and physical altercation. Mozitis pulled out an unregistered black semi-automatic Glock handgun she had stashed among her belongings and allegedly threatened her mother, 44, and grandmother, before fleeing with an acquaintance, whom family members did not recognize.

The getaway vehicle, described as a tan 2002 Honda Accord, belonged to Mozitis's mother.

Mozitis doesn't have a gun permit or a driver's license, Chitwood said.

Upper Darby police have a warrant out for Mozitis's arrest, seeking her on charges of assault, terroristic threats, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and recklessly endangering another person.

Chitwood said Mozitis had previous run-ins with police as a juvenile over a drug violation and terroristic threats.
