Pedestrian killed crossing Roosevelt Boulevard

A man believed to be in his 60s or 70s was struck by a car and killed Saturday night as he was crossing East Roosevelt Boulevard in a crash police said may have involved a drunk driver.

A man believed to be in his 60s or 70s was struck by a car and killed Saturday night as he was crossing East Roosevelt Boulevard in a crash police said may have involved a drunk driver.

Around 7:45 p.m., the man, whose identity was not disclosed, was crossing the street near the 7500 block of East Roosevelt Boulevard when he was struck by a car headed in the southbound direction. Authorities pronounced him dead minutes later.

The driver, who also has not been identified, stayed on the scene and was arrested for driving under the influence, police said.
