Two 15th District Philadelphia police officers who responded to a domestic disturbance call last week and apprehended the male suspect have been identified.

Investigators say the two officers - identified as Officer Donald Holloway, a nine-year veteran, and Officer Juan Delgado, a 13-year veteran - are being placed on administrative duty pending the outcome of a preliminary investigation.

The incident occurred last Wednesday, when the two officers responded to the call on the 6300 block of Crafton Street in the Northeast for "a domestic incident," according to police.

Upon arrival, the officers saw a man, later identified as Timothy McShane, 55, brandishing a rifle, police said Investigators said McShane raised the weapon towards the officers, and both discharged their firearms, striking McShane in the left arm. The suspect threw his rifle on the front lawn and was apprehended without further incident. Police later retrieved the weapon, which they say, turned out to be an empty pellet gun.

McShane was later treated and released at Aria Hospital. Investigators said McShane's wife, fled to a neighbor's house prior to the arrival of the officers with bruises to her left eye and cuts to her left hand after allegedly being assaulted by McShane.

McShane is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and related offenses.
