One dead, three wounded in Philly add to weekend's toll

Police reported two shootings, one of them fatal, Sunday, adding to the tally of a violent weekend in Philadelphia.

The first was reported about 4:30 a.m. on the 3700 block of North Broad Street. Officers called to the area for a report of a person with a gun arrived to find shell casings on the road. They then learned two shooting victims had been taken to Temple University Hospital. One man was shot in the head and was reported in critical condition Sunday. The other, a 44-year-old man, was shot in the right arm and was in stable condition Sunday. An investigation was ongoing.

At 5:30 p.m. Sunday a 31-year-old man was shot multiple times on the 5600 block of Media Street, West Philadelphia, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were searching for a weapon. No arrests had been made.
