East Mount Airy man shot dead at home
A 29-year-old man died late Monday after he was shot in his home in Philadelphia's East Mount Airy section. Police said they were called to the 8300 block of Williams Ave. at about 9:30 p.m. for a report of a person with a gun. When officers arrived, they found Ernest Jones in his residence with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police said they were called to the 8300 block of Williams Ave. at about 9:30 p.m. for a report of a person with a gun. When officers arrived, they found Ernest Jones in his residence with a gunshot wound to the head.
Jones was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he died at 10:54 p.m., according to police.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no word yet on a possible motive.
