Police have identified two men who were shot dead Wednesday outside tennis courts and a community center in Philadelphia.

Police have identified two men who were shot dead Wednesday outside tennis courts and a community center in Philadelphia.

The unrelated fatal shootings are both being investigated as homicides.

The first was reported about 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, when officers responding to call for an unresponsive person found 20-year-old Sabree Jones near tennis courts on the 400 block of West Abbotsford Avenue in Fernhill.

Jones, of East Germantown, had suffered gunshot wounds to his head, chest and stomach. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:29 a.m.

Later Wednesday, 29-year-old Piere Burbage was shot and fatally wounded on the 600 block of North 39th Street in Mantua.

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., he had apparently exchanged words with another man outside the entrance to the Haverford Community Center, police said, and the other man opened fire.

The victim, who lived on the block, was found on a porch, suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:56 p.m.

Both killings remain under investigation and no arrests have been made.
