Philadelphia police announced Tuesday that they are investigating three homicides from this month - two deadly shootings in West Philadelphia and the fatal beating of a man last week in the city's Crescentville section.

Philadelphia police announced Tuesday that they are investigating three homicides from this month - two deadly shootings in West Philadelphia and the fatal beating of a man last week in the city's Crescentville section.

About 12:04 a.m. Tuesday, police and medics responded to a shooting on the 5500 block of Sansom Street in West Philadelphia. Medics transported the victim, an unidentified man who was found on the street bleeding from his head, to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

The victim, who was shot in his head and legs, was pronounced dead at 12:37 a.m. Tuesday.

Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters at the scene that the shooting appeared to be execution-style, and the victim, shot several times, was believed to be in his 20s.

Police also said that a 30-year-old man beaten by three other men in Crescentville Friday has died. The victim, identified as Mardoqeo Sincal-Jochola, was found unconscious by police about 6 p.m. that day outside Adam's Beer Distributor on the 700 block of Adams Avenue.

He was taken by medics to Einstein Medical Center in extremely critical condition. At 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Sincal-Jochola died at the hospital, police said. They said the motive behind the attack was an argument.

Police also reported that a man shot earlier this month in West Philadelphia died Friday. About 12:15 a.m. Aug. 7, officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 5500 block of Spring Street.

They found Marcus Edge, 33, of the 5400 block of Spring Street, sitting in a white Nissan, suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken in critical condition by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died at 12:24 a.m. Friday.

No arrests have been made in either shooting or in the fatal beating.
