A man was shot and killed Saturday night in Burlington City, and a 5-year-old girl was injured in the attack, authorities said.
A man was shot and killed Saturday night in Burlington City, and a 5-year-old girl was injured in the attack, authorities said.
It was unclear how the girl was injured.
The shooting occurred around 6:45 p.m. by the intersection of York and East Federal Streets, Burlington County dispatch said.
As a homicide, the investigation is being headed by the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. The spokesman for the office did not immediately return a phone call for comment Saturday.
Capt. John Fine of the City of Burlington Police Department, who briefed reporters at the scene, said the investigation was ongoing and declined to comment on the manhunt and shooter.
"The investigation's preliminary. I don't want to give any false hope to anybody," he said. "We have made some progress."
