Man sought in July killing apprehended

A Philadelphia man police had been seeking in connection with a July murder was arrested Thursday, officials announced.

Victor Brown, 33, of 6700 block of North 15th Street, was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, firearms violations and related crimes in connection with the fatal shooting of Sharif Derry.

Brown was the second man arrested for the murder.

Derry, 23, was shot and killed on the 6700 block of 17th Street on July 16. Evin Kersey, 30, was arrested on July 27 and charged with murder, conspiracy, firearms violations in Derry's death.
