Daylight shootings leave 3 wounded in North Philly, Frankford

The first happened when a man was shot on the street on the 1800 block of West Susquehanna Avenue just after 9:45 a.m., Philadelphia police said.

He suffered one gunshot wound to his chest and was listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital.

The shooting happened near Temple University, which alerted its community to the incident and told people to avoid the area.

Then, just before 1:15 p.m., two men were shot on the 5300 block of Lesher Street in Frankford.

One man was shot once in his hand and taken to Aria Health's Frankford campus in a private car; the other ran to the hospital after being shot in his left knee and right thigh, police said. Both were listed in stable condition.

No arrests were made in either incident and no description of any suspects was available. The reasons for the shootings are not clear.
