Truck driver reportedly accelerated before crashing into Magee Rehab, injuring four in lobby

A pickup truck that crashed through the glass sliding lobby doors at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital in Center City Friday night was driven by a 38-year-old Folcroft woman who accelerated as she was leaving the parking garage, police said.

The Ford F-150 struck four people who were standing in the lobby of the hospital on Race Street between 15th and 16th Streets, police said.

A 41-year-old man from West Berlin, Camden County, who had been in the lobby at the time of the crash was in critical condition at Hahnemann University Hospital Saturday with internal bleeding, police said. The other injured - a 70-year-old woman, a 41-year-old man and a 63-year-old man, all from Philadelphia - were in stable condition, along with the pickup driver, at Hahnemann, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.

Police did not release the identities of the driver or the injured.
