N. Philly fire sends child to hospital

A fire early Saturday morning in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia sent one person to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a fire dispatcher said.

A fire early Saturday morning in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia sent one person to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire was reported about 3 a.m. on the 2800 block of North Palethorp Street, and was put under control shortly afterward.

6ABC reported that a 2-year-old child suffered smoke inhalation in the house fire and was sent to the hospital. It said the toddler is expected to be OK.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
