A 48-year-old Trenton woman was in critical condition Monday after she was pulled from the Delaware River Sunday, police in Lower Makefield Township, Bucks County, said.

Police said she was swimming when a woman on the boat ramp at 1300 River Rd. saw her "in distress, waving her arms, and going under the water."

She jumped into her boat and motored out to the swimmer, and after several tries she was able to pull her into the boat. CPR was performed, and Makefield police and the Yardley Makefield Rescue squad responded. The victim was taken to Saint Mary's Hospital.
