Man shot several times in N. Philly, drives self to hospital
A 38-year-old man who was shot several times and critically wounded in North Philadelphia Saturday morning drove himself to a hospital, police said.
A 38-year-old man who was shot several times and critically wounded in North Philadelphia Saturday morning drove himself to a hospital, police said.
Police responded to the report of a shooting on the 2400 block of West Lehigh Avenue at about 11:30 a.m. There, they were told that the victim drove himself to Temple University Hospital, police said.
When they got to Temple, police were informed that the victim suffered five gunshot wounds in the back and had another in his hip.
Police said the shooter or shooters were part of a group of four to five African American men who were in a black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck with chrome rails on its rear. They said the truck was last seen traveling west on Lehigh Avenue.
The motive for the shooting was not known.
