Police took the victim to Einstein Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. Eight spent shell casings were found at the scene and one bullet hit a parked car.

Police nearby heard the gunfire and it was so close that an emergency radio call to "assist officer" was declared, Small said. Two police vehicles responding to that assist collided at North Wister Street and Chew. No officers were injured.
