Philadelphia cop injured in on-duty car crash

A Philadelphia police officer was injured when his police vehicle collided with a private automobile at 25th and Diamond Streets in North Philadelphia just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

A Philadelphia police officer was injured when his police vehicle collided with a private automobile at 25th and Diamond Streets in North Philadelphia just before 5 p.m. Tuesday.

No civilians were hurt, a police spokeswoman said.

The officer was transported to Hahnemann University Hospital and was listed in stable condition.

NBC reported that the officer was attempting to pull over a car when his vehicle was hit from behind. The impact caused the officer's car to crash into the car he was trying to pull over.
