A 22-year-old man has been arrested in a fatal stabbing in Norristown last week, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office said Tuesday.

Luis Daniel Martinez-Perez, of the 700 block of George Street in Norristown, has been charged with murder, robbery and related offenses in the slaying of Christopher Thomas, 43, also of Norristown.

According to an affidavit of probable cause, officers found the victim lying in the 600 block of Jamison Alley about 12:15 a.m. April 19. Medics transported him to Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers at the scene also found a 2005 Volvo S40 sedan nearby with its lights on and blood inside. The car was later determined to belong to the victim's brother.

Detectives found a blood-covered knife at the scene and determined that Thomas' cellphone, wallet and car keys were missing.

Through their investigation, detectives learned that the last call made to Thomas' cellphone was from a phone being used by Martinez-Perez. The defendant, when interviewed last Thursday, initially denied speaking to Thomas, but then said he and another man, whom he identified as "JB," robbed and stabbed Thomas, according to the affidavit.
