12-year-old pedestrian hit by car in N. Philly

A 12-year-old boy was in critical condition after being struck by a car late Tuesday afternoon in North Philadelphia, police said.

Just after 5:45 p.m., the boy was hit by a red 1999 Toyota Camry in the 700 block of Wallace Street. He suffered lacerations to his head and right arm and was taken by police to Hahnemann University Hospital.

The driver stopped and remained at the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
