Man fatally shot twice in head on Vernon Road

Police are investigating the shooting death Sunday afternoon of a 21-year-old man in North Philadelphia. Officers said they found the victim, whose name has not been released, around 3:30 p.m., shot twice in the head. He was on the highway at 1400 Vernon Road and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Weapons were recovered at the scene, police said.

A suspect being sought is described as a 6-foot tall black male, last seen wearing a light grey hoodie, walking southbound near 7900 Fayette Street.
