A pedestrian was in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Burlington County Friday night, authorities said Saturday.

The person was struck about 8:30 p.m. on Marne Highway near the Mt. Holly Bypass in Hainesport, and flown by helicopter to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, a Burlington County dispatch supervisor said.

The supervisor said he did not know if the driver of the vehicle stopped; 6abc reported that the vehicle stopped at the scene.

Hainesport Township's policing is handled by the New Jersey State Police's Bordentown Barracks. A woman who answered the phone at the station Saturday morning said she could not provide any details about the accident.

"It's confidential, ma'am, sorry," she said.
