Toddler struck by a hit-run van in South Phila.

A 20-month-old boy was in stable condition after being struck by a hit-and-run van Friday evening in South Philadelphia, police said.

Just before 6:15 p.m., the toddler darted out into the roadway of the 1500 block of Ritner Street and was hit by a green work van with New Jersey tags, police said. The boy was taken by medics to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

The van was last seen heading west on Ritner from 18th Street, police said. - Robert Moran
