FBI: Same bandit robbed 3 Center City banks

The FBI/Philadelphia Police Joint Violent Task Force is seeking help to identify a man suspected of robbing at least three Center City banks in the past year.

The stickups took place on July 27 at the Beneficial Bank, 1600 Chestnut St.; on Oct. 7 at the Republic Bank, 1601 Walnut St., and on March 18 at the Firstrust Bank, 1515 Market St.

Officials said that in each robbery the bandit passed a threatening demand note to a teller and fled on foot after getting the loot.

In each of the heists, he wore a different baseball cap, and a pair of black sunglasses.

He is described as a white male in his 30s-40s, approximately 5-feet, 8-inches to 5-feet, 9 inches tall, medium build, with facial scruff.

He also favors hooded sweatshirts, basketball shorts, and sneakers, the task force said..

Anyone with information is asked call the FBI at 215-418-4000.

Officials said there's a reward for information leading to the robber's capture.
