A wind advisory has been issued for the entire Philadelphia region staring Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. to midnight.

Forecasters say to expect west winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts of up to 50 mph.

The strongest winds are expected in the evening and could knock down tree limbs and power lines, the weather service said. Power outages are possible as a result.

People should secure outdoor objects like patio furniture and garbage cans, the advisory recommends.

The advisory covers most of the area from Massachusetts to Maryland, including the entire state of New Jersey and all but the western edge of Pennsylvania.

Because of the weather, some flights to Philadelphia International Airport were being delayed about 45 minutes, the FAA said.
